Where Fact and Fiction Meet

I’m an early 30′s guy living in Washington, DC with interests so varied that it’s tough to boil down to a concise description. One thing I do know is that the phrase, “Jack of all trades, Master of none” is applicable. This blog is going to catalog and explain my never-ending search for the sweet life.

The question that I hope comes to your mind is why is this posting titled “where fact and fiction meet”? It’s a good question.

Part of my reasoning is because I read an intoxicating work of fiction titled “Neverwhere” by Neil Gaiman and it took me away into the world created by Gaiman so completely that I wished I could meet the characters and ask them more about their experiences. I love how good fiction takes you away and so the title is thus conceptual. Searching for the sweet life is looking to get taken away by life itself and the wonderful complexity of being a human.

The other part of the reason why this blog is where fact and fiction meet is because my personal quest for the sweet life has been full of fits and starts. Sometimes I have been my own worst enemy. Often, I had no idea what I wanted or why I was doing what I was doing. My current life is thus fact. The sweet life seems like it’s currently fiction. I’m trying to introduce them.

What will the sweet life look like? I’ll let you know when I find out.
